Guilt-free, luxury living is no problem at Tiamo, where nature rules. Set among tropical palm groves right on the seashore, their cottages are cooled by sea breezes and powered by the sun.All eleven cottages are built from sustainable pine and raised on stilts with wraparound verandahs to maximise natural ventilation and cooling. The thatch used on the roofs was collected by the local church and children and provides great natural insulation, moderating temperatures and our cottages are screened for shade and privacy by mature trees and tropical planting.
They grow fresh fruit, vegetables and salad for the resort in the kitchen gardens at Tiamo. Their Michelin- trained resident chef and his team will tempt you daily with a heady mix of Bahamian and fusion cuisine, including vegetarian and healthy options and fine wines from around the vineyards of the world. Blissful massages can be arranged in your suite and for the ultimate romantic getaway, they will whisk you by private launch to a hidden cove for a very special picnic lunch.From the Great Room you can retreat to the seclusion of the panelled Library reminiscent of a traditional country house to curl up with a book or borrow from our collection of classic literature, modern fiction, guidebooks, maps and natural history which line the walls.
